Launched by New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) on Inauguration Day 2017, Civics 101 is the podcast refresher course on the basics of how our government works. Hosts Nick Capodice and Hannah McCarthy take an expansive view of civics, exploring not only the institutions of government but also the rights and responsibilities of citizens no matter their age. We want to meet people, especially students, where they are, creating work and telling stories that reflect their realities and empower individuals to be more civically engaged. We call on diverse scholars, politicians, civil servants, journalists, and teachers to provide their expertise and share their lived experience. Episodes are about 15 minutes long and released every other Tuesday along with related educational resources.
